The power of thinking pink this Valentine’s Day

Our guest blog is written by our beautiful clients Larah Davis and Susie Howell, who are at the forefront and leading the way for retreats in Ibiza. When Larah Davis founded Ibiza Retreats in 2007, her dream was to co-create her own retreat space, where guests feel truly held by the location and the team, allowing them to let go and experience the true nature of abundance, which is of course wellness.

She began by connecting world-class teachers and group leaders with the island’s incredible retreat locations, therapists and chefs, and when Susie Howell joined her as her partner in 2009, their offerings expanding to develop a range of their own inspiring holistic retreats.

Combining yoga, meditation and tailor-made programs of treatments and therapies, Ibiza Retreats focus heavily on teaching techniques for self-healing to inspire their guests to nourish and care for themselves.

This Valentine’s day when the pressure to “feel the love” and “be loving” is peaking, remember that you have the power to infuse more loving, peaceful, altogether higher and more positive energies into ANY situation.

All it takes is 5 minutes to embrace YOUR power to feel strong, centred, loving and happy this February. You can design your FUTURE EXPERIENCES to be harmonious and loving, simply by visualising pink bubbles of light around you, and the other person, or people involved.

Our mind is magical and ever-creative. It is constantly designing our inner-landscapes and shaping how we feel, see and experience our world around us, based on perceptions of the future which are fuelled by our experiences in the past.

Your power is in the NOW. In the present moment. In the present moment you can create the future that resonates more kindness, love and happiness.

The mind does not know the difference between “acting as if” and “actually doing” something: the same neural networks fire-up, sending messages through your nerve system to your heart, breathing apparatus, muscles and tissues and immune and endocrine systems.

These messages from your nerves can be stress-creating signals or soothing and relaxing reassurances. Your emotions, which are created by your thoughts, are the juicy, fluid messengers to your physical body, which then expresses (through voice/movement AND energetic “good or bad vibes”) as you act out the behaviours that these emotions convey.

So rather than letting your emotional horse gallop-away, succumbing to anger boiling over or drowning in guilt when you “say what you didn’t want to say”… why not use the colour of love, kindness, gentleness and sweetness to transform your Valentine’s day and give yourself and big dose of self-love?

Practice the power of thinking pink

  • Before you begin your day, sit for just 5 minutes
  • Make sure you are comfortable
  • Bring your hands to your belly and observe your breathing
  • Breathe freely in and out, feeling your breath become slower, longer and deeper naturally
  • Now imagine or envision your day ahead – are there any situations, meetings or appointments that elicit uncomfortable feelings?
  • Notice who is there – and simply surround YOURSELF first with a ball of pink light, and envision a ball of pink light surrounding this other person, or other people too.
  • Notice the difference in how you are feeling, protected and safe, secure in your own ball of pink light, allow your sense of positive energy and love to expand.
  • Notice how the other person is looking/feeling and how your interactions are changing
  • Notice how you are feeling NOW about the day ahead
  • Come back to observing your breathing
  • Set a “THINK PINK” reminder 15 mins before you are due to meet with those people/encounter that situation and take 1 min to tap back into your breath and re-envision your bubbles of light

As you self-care by visualising the balls of pink light you are protecting yourself and preserving your own sense of harmony, balance and happiness. This is self-love in action and spreads out in positive ripples through your inner-world and into your relationships, family and community around you.
