CULTURE FIRST FROM WE ARE INDIGO

The We Are Indigo team has been busy behind the scenes preparing for our best summer season yet alongside our portfolio of the UK’s leading cultural destinations.

Although the sun has yet to shine fully, things are heating up for our music-centric clients.

The Co-op Live, Europe’s biggest indoor arena, is now in full swing, with the world’s top artists taking to the monumental stage. In June, Manchester’s own Liam Gallagher made his first appearance with an unforgettable performance to celebrate Oasis’ debut album ‘Definitely Maybe’ 30th anniversary this August.

The fastest-ever selling debut in the UK on release, this seminal album marked the point when Oasis became a cultural phenomenon. Including the classic singles ‘Supersonic’, ‘Live Forever’ and ‘Cigarettes & Alcohol’, its songs sound as fresh and relevant as they did in 1994. Having sold over 6.9 million copies globally, it is the 2nd most streamed album of the ’90s (following Oasis’ (What’s The Story) Morning Glory? at no.1).

Red Bull UK announced the largest global dance competition, “Dance Your Style”, on the official Manchester Day, Saturday 27th July, at client Freight Island. Pro dancers nationwide are set to battle for the winning UK title and a spot at the World Final in Mumbai.

Next door at The Warehouse Project, the team looks back at their incredible debut shows in Australia, a two-day event spanning Melbourne and Sydney, as they begin to announce the 2024 A/W season at The Depot, Mayfield.

In the capital, The Blues Kitchen is celebrating 15 years of live music at its Shoreditch location on Friday, July 19th. The Southern-inspired bar, restaurant, and live venue continue to showcase London’s hip-hop, Soul, and R&B musicians with an eight-week content series highlighting the inspirational careers of resident artists throughout the years.

Across the river, The Jazz Cafe is set to launch its debut festival on Sunday, 15th September, at Burgess Park. The Camden institution has been integral to the city’s and global live music community for over three decades. Offering a stage to emerging talent across all genres, alongside musical legends and pioneers, The Jazz Cafe festival will see Earl Sweatshirt, ELIZA, Buena Vista All Stars and Jordss perform.
We look forward to celebrating the best of UK culture this summer alongside our inspirational client portfolio.
