A NOTE FROM OUR FOUNDERS

Firstly, we hope you and your family are keeping well in these challenging times. As the world as we know it begins to alter and the people around us collectively come together to share their worries, we have had to adapt the way we go about our day to day business.

The office is now an empty space, but that hasn’t stopped us as a team – our morning meetings are now virtual interactions at kitchen tables, makeshift offices and on the couch. This is a time when we can share brilliant ideas, but also our concerns about what this new, unfamiliar situation has brought us. It’s so important during this difficult time of social distancing that we stay social – a call to someone you would usually email could make all the difference at a time like this.

Of course, the content we put out, the ideas we suggest and plans we put in place have shifted from what it was before (last week) – it had to. As much as we will fly the flag for business as usual, there are situations where this isn’t the case. We are destination experts and as it stands, destinations are ‘not to be visited’ – we have to adapt, whilst still supporting those that need us. Some independents in the city don’t have a PR partner, but during these times we are reaching out to those to offer our support and guidance, if needed. And the clients we do have, we are continuing to instil enthusiasm with creative, yet compassionate ideas; reminding them that this time will pass and that great things are just around the corner.

With the constant pinging of panic-inducing news alerts it’s hard to keep grounded. Here are some WAI tips for staying upbeat during this spiralling pandemic…

Get some fresh air – go for a walk, go to the park – it’s so important to get out! And with National Trust opening up all their parks with free entry, you may as well make the most of it!

Some of our favourite playlists – with some DJS creating mixes especially for those in self-isolation;

Virtual workouts – whether its Yoga or HIIT, so many trainers and gyms are adding virtual workout sessions. Try these as a starter

Deliveries – lots of restaurants, cafes and bars have stepped up with defiance, adapting their usual business offering to offer takeaway services for delivery or collection (option with no contact also). Some great establishments doing this are:

  • Rudy’s Pizza
  • SUGO
  • Albert’s Schloss
  • Mamucium
  • Crazy Pedro’s NQ
  • Bay Horse Tavern NQ
  • Cane & Grain NQ
  • Ezra & Gil
  • Siop Shop
  • Pollen Bakery
  • Hip Hop Chip Shop
  • Coming soon for deliveries, The Refuge.

Look after yourself and each other and do call us for any advice at all on – 0161 260 0186

Love Gemma and Matthew and the rest of team Indigo x
